Well, it’s 2023 now. This is just a super quick update since I’m in here working on website/post automation stuff.

First Stream Date

The studio is no longer a quarantine zone, and I’m trying very hard to do some tests this Saturday (Jan 14th 2023). Before I can pull all that off, I have to clean up the disaster that is Christmas Studio, and do one last bit of tech testing. I know that I’ve got the audio dialed in and the camera/lighting is sufficient for now. I won’t have a whole lot of the graphics and imaging done since we’re only about 60% on the audio matching the video portions of the graphics. The lower thirds and fly-ins are done and will work great for the show.

I am in the process of finishing the CDI-001 set list, just a few final tweaks here and there, but that’s one prepared episode in the bag. In the meantime, have a quick picture of how the home setup looks, as that’s what I’ve been using to build the set.

NYE Set?

Yeah, NYE was a mess. I’m not even posting what was done for it, but I’ll mock up the best parts and do a little mini mix as probably the tech testing music. Could be interesting.

Other updates?

Scheduling is still a little up in the air, but I’m aiming for 1PM Central Time on Saturdays once we get in the swing of things. Mixcloud doesn’t do video on demand, only audio recordings, so if you miss the livestream, all you’re getting is that. I don’t really have any plans to host video recordings (but I will be doing local recordings, and we’ll see about maybe playing them back over Discord one day – or maybe in a year’s time I’ll grab all the outtakes and do a “Worst Of” video.

Right before writing this quick update I was building out the templates for when a new episode goes live for the website. It will have a quick note about the episode, the Mixcloud player, and the tracklist for you to view. Episodes will be available via a new submenu that will appear once the first episode goes live on the site.
